Privacy Policy — Mash Bill

Effective Date: October 12, 2026 Last Updated: October 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Brent’s Big Damn LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the Mash Bill mobile application (“the App”), available for iPhone. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

The short version: Mash Bill runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your data. Your distillery and settings stay on your iPhone, and they leave it only when you choose to export a save file yourself.

1. Information We Collect

The App is designed not to collect personal information. Mash Bill:

  • Does not require account creation, registration, or sign-up
  • Does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier
  • Does not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data
  • Makes no network requests of its own and does not transmit data to our servers — we operate no servers for the App (the two optional links described in Section 6 open in your browser or the App Store only when you tap them)

Note: While the App itself does not make network requests, your device’s operating system or app distribution platform (the Apple App Store, or Apple’s TestFlight for beta versions) may independently collect certain data related to app installation, purchases, updates, or crash diagnostics. Such collection is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and is outside our control.

Your distillery is stored exclusively on your device, and we have no ability to access, view, or retrieve it. The App also calculates offline progress on your device using the device’s own clock — it never checks the time with a server.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

While we do not collect data, the App stores the following locally on your device so your distillery can keep running:

  • Your distillery: Production, barrels, rickhouses, releases, inventory, cash, reputation, orders, contracts, construction, medals, and the records of past generations
  • Names you enter: Your distillery’s name and the names you give your releases, which are saved as part of your game
  • Return summaries: Records of what changed while you were away
  • App settings: Your reminder preferences and other settings, which are saved as part of your game
  • Backups: Up to three earlier copies of your save, plus a pre-import backup when you import a save, kept only so the App can recover your distillery
  • Damaged saves: If a save can’t be read, the App keeps it rather than deleting it, so it can be exported or recovered

The names you enter are whatever you choose to type. You do not need to use your own name, and we recommend against entering anyone’s personal information.

This data is stored in the App’s private container on your device, isolated from other apps by iOS. It is not transmitted to us, and we have no access to it.

3. Exporting and Importing Saves

Mash Bill lets you export your distillery as a save file and import one through the iOS Files app.

  • When you export, the file is created on your device and handed to the standard iOS save interface. You choose where it goes — Files, AirDrop, or another app or cloud provider.
  • A save file contains your game, including your distillery and release names. Share it only with people you are comfortable seeing them.
  • We are not a party to that transfer and never receive the file. Once you save or share it elsewhere, that copy is governed by the destination you chose and must be deleted there separately.
  • When you import, the App reads only the file you select, checks that it is a valid save, and keeps a pre-import backup of your current distillery. Invalid files are rejected without changing your game.

4. Local Reminders

Mash Bill can send you optional local reminders — for example when a barrel reaches a milestone, an order is about to expire, judging is complete, or production may stall.

  • Reminders are off unless you turn them on in Settings. When you do, iOS asks for permission to show notifications, and you can choose which kinds you want.
  • Reminders are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device by iOS, based on your saved game. They are not push notifications: no server is involved, no device token is created, and nothing is sent to us.
  • You can turn reminders off at any time in the App’s Settings, or in your iPhone’s Settings → Notifications.

5. Device Permissions

The only permission Mash Bill may request is notifications, and only if you turn on local reminders. The App does not ask for, and has no access to:

  • Camera or photo library
  • Microphone
  • Location
  • Contacts, calendars, or other personal data on your device

When you import a file, iOS gives the App access only to the single file you choose, only while it is being read.

Mash Bill contains no network code of its own, but it includes two links that open outside the App only when you tap them:

  • See More Apps in About Mash Bill opens our website, ginger-apps.com, in your browser
  • Beer Smash, in Settings, opens our companion game’s page on the Apple App Store, once that page is available

These links are never shown during gameplay and never open on their own. When you tap one, your browser or the App Store app handles the connection, governed by its own privacy practices. The App sends no information about you or your game with these links.

7. iCloud and Backups

Mash Bill does not use iCloud sync, Game Center, or any other online service. Your distillery is not synced between devices — use export and import to move it yourself.

Your device’s own iCloud or computer backups may include the App’s local data, depending on your device settings. Those backups are controlled by you and governed by Apple’s policies. We have no access to your iCloud account or its contents.

8. Advertising and In-App Purchases

Mash Bill displays no advertisements and offers no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or tip jar. The cash, prices, and sales in the game are fictional game mechanics; no real money is involved, and no advertising or payment information is collected or processed by the App.

9. Third-Party Services

Mash Bill contains no third-party services, SDKs, or dependencies of any kind. The App:

  • Includes no third-party libraries — it is built solely on Apple’s own system frameworks (SwiftUI and related APIs), all of which run on-device
  • Displays no advertisements
  • Integrates with no analytics platforms
  • Uses no crash reporting or diagnostics service
  • Connects to no cloud services, backends, leaderboards, remote configuration, or external APIs

The game’s rules, balance data, and artwork are bundled inside the App.

10. Analytics and Tracking

We do not track users for analytics, advertising, or behavioral profiling. Mash Bill:

  • Contains no analytics or telemetry of any kind
  • Does not use cookies, pixels, beacons, or fingerprinting
  • Does not participate in any advertising or tracking networks
  • Does not collect usage statistics, gameplay data, crash reports, or performance data

We have zero visibility into how, when, or whether you play the App.

11. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Because the App operates entirely on your device and we collect no user data:

  • No user data is shared with third parties by us
  • No data is sold to data brokers or advertisers
  • No data is disclosed to affiliates or business partners
  • We do not possess user data that could be produced in response to legal requests

Note: Apple may independently collect and share data related to your use of its platform and the App Store. Please refer to Apple’s privacy policy for details.

12. Data Retention and Deletion

All data created by the App resides on your device and is entirely under your control.

  • Retention: Your distillery and settings are kept on your device for as long as you keep the App installed. We have no role in retention because we never possess your data.
  • Starting over: Settings → Start a new distillery replaces your current game after you confirm.
  • App uninstallation: Uninstalling the App removes its local data, including its backups, from your device, subject to your device’s operating system and backup settings.
  • Exported files: Save files you have exported live wherever you saved or sent them and must be deleted there.

13. Children’s Privacy

Mash Bill uses a fictional bourbon-distillery theme and is intended for an adult audience. It is about making and selling whiskey, not drinking it, and it does not depict drinking or encourage the consumption of alcohol.

Mash Bill does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Since the App does not collect personal information from any user, regardless of age, there is no children’s data at risk.

If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about your child’s use of the App, please contact us at support.bbdllc@gmail.com.

We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provisions regarding minors, and similar applicable laws.

14. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws. These include the right to:

  • Access personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate personal data
  • Erase your personal data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict processing of your personal data
  • Port your personal data to another service
  • Object to processing of your personal data
  • Withdraw consent to data processing

Because Mash Bill operates entirely on your device and transmits no user data to us, we do not process personal data on our systems. As a result, we do not hold personal data about you that would be subject to these rights.

All data created in the App is on your device and under your exclusive control. You may export it, replace it, or delete it at any time through the App or by uninstalling it.

Platform controllers: Apple acts as an independent data controller for data it collects through the App Store, TestFlight, and iOS (e.g., purchase history, crash diagnostics). For information about Apple’s data practices, please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority if you believe your data protection rights have been violated.

If you have questions about your rights, you may contact us at support.bbdllc@gmail.com.

15. Your Rights Under CCPA / CPRA

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information. These include the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold
  • Delete personal information held by a business
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information

Because the App operates entirely on your device and we collect no personal information, we do not hold personal information about you that would be subject to these rights.

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • We do not collect or process sensitive personal information, including precise geolocation.

For questions, contact us at support.bbdllc@gmail.com.

16. International Data Transfers

Mash Bill operates entirely on your device and transmits no user data to our servers. Your data remains on your device and is not transferred internationally by us. Any data processing performed by Apple in connection with app distribution is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

17. Security

The App is built so that your data never has to travel:

  • No network surface: The App makes no network requests of its own, eliminating network-based interception entirely
  • No third-party code: No external SDKs that could collect or exfiltrate data
  • OS-level isolation: Data is stored in the App’s private container, which iOS isolates from other apps
  • Device encryption: Files in the App’s container are protected by iOS Data Protection, which encrypts device storage when you have a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID enabled
  • No credentials to steal: There is no account, password, or access token associated with the App

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy and, where practicable, through an in-app notice.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your privacy. Your continued use of the App after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

19. App Store Supplemental Disclosures

Apple App Store (iOS)

In accordance with Apple’s App Store requirements and the App Tracking Transparency framework:

  • Data Not Collected: Mash Bill does not collect data from users or transmit data to the developer, as reflected in the App Store privacy nutrition label and the App’s privacy manifest.
  • Tracking: The App does not track users across other companies’ apps or websites.
  • App Tracking Transparency: Not applicable — the App performs no tracking.
  • Permissions: Notifications only, and only if you turn on local reminders.
  • Location: Not collected.
