Beer Smash — Frequently Asked Questions

Beer powers, levels and stars, saved progress, and how your data is handled.

What is Beer Smash?
Beer Smash is a single-player match-three puzzle game for iPhone with a fictional beer theme. Swap neighboring beers to line up three or more of the same color, complete each level's objective within a limited number of moves, and unlock six beer styles that each carry a special power. The campaign has 200 levels across 20 chapters.
Is Beer Smash free? Are there ads or in-app purchases?
Beer Smash has no advertising, no in-app purchases, no paid boosters, and no lives or timers that make you wait. Every level is earned by playing.
Does Beer Smash need an internet connection?
No. Beer Smash is fully offline. All artwork, levels, music, and sound are built into the app, and it makes no network requests. There is no account to create and no login — it plays the same on a plane, on the subway, or anywhere without signal.
Does Beer Smash collect any of my data?
No. Beer Smash contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. Your progress, stars, and settings are saved only on your iPhone, and nothing is ever sent to us — we have no servers for the app and no way to see how you play.
What are the beer powers?
There are six. Lager (Crisp Sweep) clears a full row or column. Pilsner (Fizz Burst) hits a 3 × 3 area. IPA (Hop Bomb) hits a 5 × 5 area. Stout (Dark Pour) hits every beer of one color. Wheat Beer (Haze Cross) clears a full row and column at once. Sour (Wild Ferment) hits three useful targets on the board. Lager unlocks at level 5, Pilsner at 10, IPA at 20, Stout at 30, Wheat Beer at 40, and Sour at 50, each with a short interactive tutorial.
How do I create a powered beer?
Match four in a row to create the level's featured power. Match beers in a T or L shape to create an IPA once it's unlocked. Match five in a straight line to create a Stout, the colorless wildcard. Powered beers keep their matching color — except Stout — and are marked with gold symbols so you can spot them on the board.
Can I combine two beer powers?
Yes. Swap two powered beers into each other to combine them for a bigger effect — two Pilsners make a 5 × 5 burst, Lager with IPA clears five rows and five columns, two Stouts hit the entire board, and a Stout swapped into another powered beer turns every beer of that color into the same power. Combinations are the fastest way through the harder levels.
How do stars work?
Winning a level earns at least one star. Higher scores earn two or three stars, and unused moves add a bonus to your score when you win. Stars measure how well you played but never block progress — finishing a level always unlocks the next one. You can replay any completed level to improve your best score and stars, up to 600 stars across the campaign.
Will I lose my progress if I close the app?
No. Beer Smash saves completed levels, best scores, stars, and settings on your iPhone automatically. If you leave in the middle of a level, the home screen offers Resume so you can pick up exactly where you were. If you get a phone call mid-move, the move finishes and the game pauses.
What if I get stuck on a level?
Turn on Hints in Settings and the game will highlight a good move after a few idle seconds, or tap the Hint button anytime during play. Retrying a level is free and unlimited. If a board ever runs out of legal moves, it reshuffles at no cost, and in the rare case it can't recover you get a free restart with your progress intact.
Does Beer Smash involve real alcohol or drinking?
No. Beer Smash uses original, fictional beer artwork as its theme. There are no real breweries or brands, no drinking or intoxication depicted, and nothing in the game encourages or rewards real-world drinking. It's a puzzle game with a pub-inspired look.
Which iPhones does Beer Smash support?
Beer Smash is designed for iPhone in portrait orientation and requires iOS 17 or later. It's built to fit screens down to the iPhone SE (2nd generation).
